About the role
Role Overview
You’ll join Microsoft’s Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team, working directly with high-impact, strategic customers to define product needs from user insights and create design concepts/specifications. The work is highly cross-functional—collaborating with software engineers, technical program managers, and data scientists to deliver solutions that improve both the emotional and functional user experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the design agenda by partnering with cross-functional teams and ensuring quality through design reviews/QA.
- Produce and oversee visual design work and related visual design documentation.
- Identify user scenarios that translate into interaction designs and UX improvements.
- Create and guide interaction models and serve as a liaison between users and the product team.
- Lead communication of design and product story to influence stakeholder buy-in across audiences.
- Collaborate with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define product features.
- Provide guidance and clarity to stakeholders; mentor/design guidance for product designers.
Requirements
- Education + experience:
- Master’s degree in Industrial Design/Product Design/HCI/UX/Interaction Design or related field AND 7+ years of product or service design experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND 9+ years of product or service design experience; or
- Equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated product/service design experience and/or use of design thinking).
