Principal IT Architect

Role Overview

Principal Solutions Architect (Consumer Experience and Clinical Enablement) at CommonSpirit Health. This is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for end-to-end solution architecture for mission-critical digital health platforms, bridging enterprise architecture discipline with software engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Architect: Lead end-to-end architecture for complex digital health and clinical enablement solutions, prioritizing scalability, security, and usability.
• Enterprise Influence & Governance: Represent and own architectural direction in architectural review boards and enterprise IT strategy forums.
• Business Alignment: Align architecture with business goals, KPIs/OKRs for patient engagement, digital front door, care navigation, and remote care enablement.
• Technical Advisor / SME: Serve as a primary architecture SME and advisor to senior leadership and cross-functional product and clinical/business partners.
• Rationalize Third-Party Apps: Streamline and rationalize third-party applications in the consumer/clinical enablement portfolio while keeping patient, staff, and consumer experience front of mind.
• Governance Leader: Develop and scale an architecture board review process; define and advocate for architecture standards, patterns, and design principles.
• Roadmap Driver: Translate technology strategy into an achievable roadmap and demonstrate progressive, continuous value delivery.
• Delivery Master: Convert concepts into deliverable plans, ensuring timely, in-scope, high-quality delivery (within budget and schedule).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, clinical, operations, and infrastructure teams, and partner with enterprise stakeholders such as Physician Enterprise, Nursing, and IT.
