Role overview
Join PointClickCare as a Principal GenAI Platform Engineer. You will serve as a product owner for GenAI capabilities, partnering with engineering teams to identify, build, and support generative AI solutions. The focus is on creating the infrastructure layer that connects AI systems to existing products and delivers AI-generated insights into agent workflows.
Key missions / responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core GenAI infrastructure, including:
- model gateways
- prompt/versioning stores
- vector databases
- LLM evaluation tools
- Implement secure access controls and authentication integrated by default into AI platform components
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate GenAI infrastructure with:
- agent frameworks
- downstream applications
- Build observability and monitoring solutions focused on real-time performance
- Optimize for scalability and cost efficiency of the infrastructure
- Ensure infrastructure supports AI platform operations, including automated model deployment
Requirements
- Experience with AI infrastructure components (e.g., vector databases, prompt/versioning stores, AI IDEs)
- Demonstrated expertise in observability/monitoring, especially real-time performance (e.g., OpenTelemetry, MLflow)
- Extensive experience building and maintaining AI platform infrastructure with Kubernetes and container security
- Familiarity with LLM inference hosting frameworks such as vLLM or SGLang (or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation for AI model deployment and platform operations
- Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks integrated into AI platforms
Nice-to-haves
- Additional experience integrating model evaluation tooling into production GenAI workflows
