Principal Frontend Engineer (Healthtech SaaS)

Role overview

• Work in a fast-paced, product-led environment on a multi-tenant SaaS platform in healthtech.
• Drive engineering efficiency by reducing PR rework, improving frontend architecture consistency, and strengthening code quality.
• Own features end-to-end and work autonomously from design through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable frontend applications using React and Next.js.
• Design clean, maintainable UI architecture with strong separation of concerns.
• Contribute to frontend system design and establish/maintain engineering standards.
• Work with GraphQL data layers using Apollo Client.
• Improve consistency and reduce PR rework across the frontend codebase.
• Collaborate with engineers to raise overall code quality and design maturity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong, production-proven expertise in React and Next.js.
• Proven ability to design and structure frontend applications (not just implement features).
• Experience in SaaS, product-led, or platform engineering environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to proactively clarify requirements.
• Ownership mindset focused on clarity and reducing downstream rework.

Nice to have

• Vue.js experience.
• Apollo Client and GraphQL.
• Experience with Pinia or similar state management patterns.
• Background in healthtech, telehealth, or other regulated SaaS.

• Well-structured PRs requiring only light review.
• Minimal architectural rework after submission.
• Strong upfront design thinking before implementation.
