About the role

Role overview

As a Principal Frontend Engineer in OutSystems R&D, you’ll help develop the next generation of capabilities for a core platform component. You’ll lead the design and delivery of robust, scalable, and secure frontend solutions while partnering closely with designers, developers, and product managers.

Responsibilities

Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure solutions
Optimize performance of the components you own
Develop and test in short cycles with high automation
Gather stakeholder feedback and iterate solutions accordingly
Create maintainable solutions that scale to thousands of users
Ensure high availability and operational integrity for team assets
Troubleshoot complex incidents related to your team’s solutions
Apply product development best practices, continuous delivery, and testing
Design and communicate high-level functional designs
Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers
Participate in on-call rotation
Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, developers, and product managers

Requirements

8+ years of software development experience
Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science (or equivalent demonstrated skills)
Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS
Strong web fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JavaScript and related web technologies)
Deep understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures, and OOP
Exceptional troubleshooting and ability to design elegant solutions to complex problems
Proactive innovation and introduction of development best practices
Experience with software development lifecycle and testing techniques
High autonomy and self-motivation

Nice to have

Knowledge of C# / .NET and interest in compiler technologies
Experience with Stencil and Ionic Framework
