About the role

Role Overview

Principal Front End Engineer (highest-level front-end individual contributor) and enterprise/product technical leader for Early Warning’s next-generation web platform.

Responsibilities

  • Define and advance enterprise front-end engineering strategy, architecture, and standards across multiple teams.
  • Establish principles/guardrails for quality, accessibility, maintainability, operational readiness, testing, and scalability.
  • Own technical product design and architecture for critical front-end platforms and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, UX, and Architecture to shape engineering approaches and align with roadmaps.
  • Build production-grade web SDKs for external partner/merchant integrations, including secure browser-based flows.
  • Drive adoption of industry best practices and modernization opportunities.
  • Provide enterprise guidance on cloud alignment, CI/CD, automated testing, and sustainable engineering practices.
  • Serve as senior point of expertise for difficult engineering problems and strategic technical decisions.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders; model engineering excellence.
  • Influence cross-functional change and represent the organization in high-impact technical discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Typically 15+ years progressive experience designing/developing complex software or web-based systems.
  • Experience designing/building/supporting production-grade web SDKs (including JavaScript/TypeScript API design, browser compatibility, versioning/backward compatibility, developer documentation, integration patterns, performance, security, and observability).
  • Deep expertise in front-end architecture, web platform engineering, application design, and enterprise-scale delivery.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions and strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of SDLC best practices.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience aligning front-end architecture with cloud practices and enterprise delivery/operational readiness (implied by CI/CD/testing/observability focus).
