About the role

Role Overview

Principal Engineer leading the design, evolution, and delivery of modern software platforms at QVC Group. This is a hands-on technical leadership role spanning UX, web, APIs, backend systems, databases, and mobile technologies.

Responsibilities

Define and drive architecture for core platforms and strategic initiatives
Lead design of complex, scalable, business-critical systems
Evaluate tradeoffs across performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
Guide modernization, platform consolidation, and technology evolution
Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to turn business needs into scalable solutions
Serve as a trusted technical advisor across web/UX, backend, and platform teams
Support platform interoperability and enterprise-wide technical consistency
Mentor engineers and technical leaders
Improve engineering quality through code and architectural reviews

Requirements

15+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex systems
Strong modern frontend expertise: TypeScript, React, Next.js
Experience building scalable web applications and UX-focused solutions
Backend and data: APIs, backend services, and SQL/NoSQL databases
Backend experience with Node.js, Python, or Java
Exposure to mobile development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
CI/CD, DevOps practices, and observability tools

Location / Work Model

Remote, but must reside in PA, NJ, or DE
May require occasional on-site presence at the West Chester, PA location
