Join Reddit as a Principal Engineer (iOS Performance) on the iOS Platform team. You will set the technical direction for iOS development, architect the iOS app for scalability, and mentor senior iOS engineers—driving company-wide impact.

Responsibilities

Architect the Reddit iOS application to scale for 100M+ DAUs.
Improve modularity, performance, and quality through proposals and technical solutions.
Define, measure, and execute user-facing performance goals, including:
- Minimizing ANR (App Not Responding) rate
- Reducing app launch time
- Eliminating slow/dropped frames
Serve as a go-to iOS architecture expert and mentor senior iOS engineers across Reddit.

Requirements

Experience influencing technical direction/best practices in large organizations (200+ engineers).
Deep, experience-based understanding of building mobile apps at scale.
Strategic mindset focused on long-term technical foundations and scalable software that improves people’s lives.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent technical expertise).
10+ years software development experience, including 5+ years designing/developing iOS applications.
Experience working cross-functionally with design, product, and data teams.
Experience with modern iOS development frameworks: SwiftUI and structured concurrency.
