Role Overview

Principal Data Engineer (Full remote) at Arbor Education. You will drive the architecture and technical strategy for Arbor’s data domain, ensuring data remains a competitive advantage while mentoring technical leads and influencing broader technology decisions.

Key Missions & Responsibilities

Define and promote target-state architectures connecting transactional, analytical, and AI systems.
Lead the end-to-end data lifecycle, including:
- OLTP schema design and migrations
- OLAP governance, data platform, and analytics
Collaborate with Product Directors to translate product vision into engineering deliverables, aligning business and engineering objectives.
Partner with multiple teams and mentor technical leads.

Requirements

Strong expertise in end-to-end data engineering, including OLTP and OLAP.
Proven ability to set data architecture direction and technical strategy.
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

Experience in connecting data across transactional, analytical, and AI use cases.
Demonstrated leadership/mentoring of technical leads.
