About the role
Role Overview
Lead the design and development of a new cricket tracking system at Hawk-Eye Innovations. As a Principal Computer Vision Engineer, you will define the architecture, set the technical direction, and ensure the system is robust, scalable, and production-ready for live sports.
Responsibilities
- Own tracking pipelines across the full system for a brand-new cricket tracking solution.
- Define and evolve system architecture, focusing on robustness, accuracy, and performance in live sports environments.
- Lead and mentor a small squad of engineers: unblock work, provide guidance, and support team execution.
- Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong experience with 3D geometry, tracking, and numerical optimization.
- Proven experience designing systems and/or leading major architectural work.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial production experience building computer vision algorithms.
- Deep modern C++ knowledge in large, complex systems.
- Experience mentoring or leading engineers.
- Ability to work at both algorithm detail and high-level system design.
- Exposure to machine learning techniques.
- Experience working with distributed and/or cloud-based systems.
- Awareness of concurrency, networking, or operating system concepts.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CUDA and/or GPU acceleration.
