Principal Cloud Infrastructure Architect

Role overview

The Principal Cloud Infrastructure Architect is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and delivering Empower Pharmacy’s enterprise cloud strategy across Azure and AWS. You will lead the architecture and migration of on-premises/data center workloads to cloud-native environments, set Infrastructure-as-Code standards, and embed AI/ML capabilities into the infrastructure layer while leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Cloud strategy & governance
  • Define a comprehensive enterprise cloud strategy aligned to corporate goals, including AI integration.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align architecture with business needs and regulatory requirements.
• Architecture leadership
  • Drive architectural decisions for cloud adoption with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Use AI-driven analytics to optimize resource allocation and infrastructure stability during migration.
• Monitoring & continuous improvement
  • Establish monitoring frameworks using AI tools for real-time cloud performance insights.
  • Continuously improve infrastructure to keep it secure, agile, and ready for rapid growth.
• Infrastructure development
  • Develop and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code best practices for consistent deployments.
  • Use AI to automate code reviews to improve deployment accuracy and reduce human error.
• AI integration
  • Lead initiatives to embed AI/ML capabilities into infrastructure for predictive analytics, operational efficiency, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Encourage the team to explore cutting-edge AI technologies and methodologies.
• Scalability
  • Architect scalable solutions aligned to business growth.
  • Use AI-powered tools to anticipate capacity needs.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience owning enterprise cloud infrastructure strategy.
• Proven ability to architect cloud adoption and migrate workloads from on-prem/data centers to cloud-native environments.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code practices and standards leadership.
• Experience embedding AI/ML capabilities into infrastructure and using AI for operational insights.
• Ability to lead and deliver across a high-performing engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience scaling Azure as a foundational platform.
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled monitoring, predictive analytics, and automated code review/deployment acceleration.
