About the role

Role Overview

Principal Cloud Engineer (AWS) at Enlyte is a senior technical leadership role responsible for the design, implementation, and evolution of the company’s AWS cloud platform. This Principal-level position focuses on architecture, security, networking, automation, and reliability, while setting cloud engineering standards and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve AWS architectures for enterprise and mission-critical workloads
  • Define AWS reference architectures, design patterns, and engineering standards
  • Lead architectural design for complex initiatives and major platform changes
  • Evaluate and recommend AWS services aligned to business and technical requirements
  • Architect and implement highly available, scalable, and secure AWS infrastructure
  • Lead cloud migrations and modernization efforts
  • Provide technical leadership on complex engineering problems
  • Review designs/implementations across teams for architectural consistency and quality
  • Design AWS environments that meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Security and Risk teams on identity, access, encryption, and network controls
  • Establish standards for monitoring, logging, incident response, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
  • Drive operational excellence across AWS platforms
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Mentor senior engineers and raise the overall technical bar
  • Influence cloud engineering practices and platform direction through hands-on leadership

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience (with bachelor’s degree) or equivalent professional experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing, building, and operating AWS environments at scale
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cloud engineering initiatives
  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud engineering and distributed systems
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, and platform services
  • Advanced understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and AWS security best practices
  • Solid grasp of enterprise architecture and system integration
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable, maintainable solutions

  • AWS Professional or Specialty certifications
