Principal Cloud Architect

Role Overview

Principal Cloud Architect responsible for designing complex, large-scale, often cutting-edge cloud solutions that drive business value for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted advisory relationships with strategic accounts, partnering with CIO/CTO/VP IT and business leaders.
• Lead architectural strategy, governance, and global design for multi-region, highly available cloud ecosystems supporting high concurrency and petabyte-scale data processing.
• Establish and enforce enterprise-wide standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management for consistent, repeatable, audited deployments.
• Architect multi-cloud and hybrid connectivity and workload portability using Anthos, Private Service Connect, and Cloud Interconnects.
• Operationalize Generative AI with production-grade RAG architectures, including security guardrails, capacity/quota reliability, monitoring, and token-cost control.
• Scale end-to-end MLOps pipelines (ingestion to model serving) using Vertex AI or self-hosted open-source models.
• Lead Zero-Trust security frameworks (e.g., BeyondCorp, VPC Service Controls, and advanced IAM).
• Automate technical compliance controls for standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR, keeping the platform secure-by-design and audit-ready.
• Serve as final escalation point for critical production issues with deep root-cause analysis.
• Drive FinOps by designing cost-efficient architectures balancing performance and long-term cloud spend.
• Mentor other architects and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Expertise designing complex enterprise cloud architectures, including governance and large-scale operations.
• Strong ability to standardize IaC and configuration management across environments.
• Experience with multi-cloud/hybrid connectivity and workload portability patterns.
• Practical experience operationalizing GenAI/RAG in production with security and cost controls.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps from pipeline creation through model serving.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security, zero-trust, identity, and compliance automation.
• Ability to lead technical escalations and perform advanced troubleshooting and optimization.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with enterprise AI transformation at scale and “bleeding-edge” implementation approaches.
• Experience with Vertex AI (or comparable self-hosted OSS model serving).
