Power BI Financial Analyst

Role Overview

Join Constellation Inc’s Homeland Security team as a Power BI Financial Analyst in Washington, DC. You will build and maintain Power BI dashboards that combine operational and financial data to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI (and other visualization tools if needed).
• Create and maintain data ETL pipelines from sources such as SQL databases, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Track, monitor, and reconcile program budgets, spend plans, obligations, and expenditures; provide regular financial status updates to leadership.
• Collaborate with end users and technical resources to integrate data outputs effectively into visualizations.
• Translate complex findings into clear, digestible insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports and dashboards.
• Support compliance with DHS/CBP financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years working with large datasets in a data visualization tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field preferred).
• 5+ years experience in program financial management, budgeting, or acquisition support for government programs.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, CTEs, and complex joins.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Experience supporting strategic financial projects via tools, dashboards, and reports.
• Ability to prepare financial briefings/reports for senior executives.
• Excellent communication skills to gather requirements and present insights clearly.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to pass a background investigation; DHS clearance with CBP or DHS preferred.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with PowerApps and Power Automate.
• Experience using SAP.
