Policy Analyst

Role Overview

The Policy Analyst will support complex policy, compliance, and case management initiatives in a higher education environment. You will interpret regulations, improve procedures, and ensure fair and effective conduct processes, working with campus leadership, legal partners, faculty, students, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee policy analysis, case management, compliance monitoring, and operational improvements related to student conduct and academic integrity.
• Serve as the primary case manager for complex/sensitive matters, including appeals and academic integrity, student conduct, and harassment-related reviews.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements, including:
  • Title IX
  • Jeanne Clery Act
  • DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act)
  • Drug-Free Schools Act
  • Evolving state and federal legislation
• Evaluate existing policies/procedures and recommend improvements; support development of new processes.
• Maintain confidential case files and records with accuracy and compliance (including databases, websites, and documentation).
• Provide analytical support for records management, data interpretation, reporting, and policy assessments.
• Lead short- and long-term projects to improve operational effectiveness.
• Prepare analytical reports, procedural documentation, recommendations, and executive communications.
• Support metrics, assessments, and statistical reporting for program effectiveness.
• Supervise and guide administrative support staff.
• Apply trauma-informed approaches and maintain professionalism in sensitive situations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in policy analysis, student affairs, compliance, conduct processes, or related areas.
• Advanced understanding of higher education legal/regulatory issues, including Title IX, Clery Act, student rights, due process, and accessibility considerations.
• Experience managing complex, sensitive, and high-profile student conduct cases or investigations.
• Knowledge of student conduct policies, procedures, adjudication processes, and policy development.
• Experience applying trauma-informed practices and handling cases involving harassment, discrimination, or violence.
