About the role
Role overview
Playwright Test Automation Engineer (Fintech / FX Trading) for an award-winning client. This is a fully remote position in the US.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript
- Create automated test cases for:
- UI
- API
- Integration
- End-to-end functionality
- Run automated tests in the CI/CD pipeline and troubleshoot any failures
- Partner with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure sufficient test coverage
- Identify, log, and help resolve software defects across the development lifecycle
- Develop and manage test data and supporting automation components
- Improve existing automation by increasing coverage and reducing repetitive manual testing
- Support releases with smoke and regression testing
- Monitor application behavior and report issues impacting functionality or reliability
- Maintain automation documentation and help improve testing practices/processes
Requirements
- Experience building automated tests with Playwright
- Experience with TypeScript
- Ability to create coverage across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Experience integrating test execution into CI/CD and investigating failures
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in fintech / trading domains (FX Trading)
- Strong debugging and defect triage skills
- Experience managing test data and automation frameworks/components
