Playwright Test Automation Engineer

Role Overview

Playwright Test Automation Engineer for a high-performance FX trading platform. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks to ensure the reliability, scalability, and accuracy of mission-critical, real-time trading systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript
• Create end-to-end, integration, and regression test suites for web-based trading applications and APIs
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous release validation
• Partner with Product Managers, Developers, and stakeholders to improve delivery quality via automated testing
• Define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards with developers
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive resolution with engineering teams
• Create and maintain test data, mocks, and stubs for complex trading workflows
• Validate UI component performance and reliability under real-time trading conditions
• Improve test coverage and reduce dependencies on manual testing
• Participate in release cycles (e.g., smoke testing and production validation)
• Document testing frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
• Lead test automation initiatives and strengthen CI/CD quality integration

Requirements

• Leadership experience in QA/testing roles (guiding teams and managing delivery in Agile environments, Kanban)
• Strong experience with Playwright (or comparable automation framework)
• Strong web application testing knowledge
• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
• Good knowledge of HTML5
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• Experience testing REST APIs and web-based applications
• Understanding of modern frontend architectures (e.g., React or Angular)
• Experience with Git
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills
• Familiarity with test reporting tools/frameworks
• Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial systems, electronic trading, or capital markets
• React experience
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing and modern QA tooling
• Familiarity with Mock Service Worker (MSW)
• Familiarity with Selenium or Cypress
• Knowledge of FIX protocol or market data systems
• Experience with performance/load testing tools
• Experience working in Linux environments

Work Model / Location

• Full-time REMOTE position in the US
• Must be authorized to work in the US without visa transfer
