About the role

Role Overview

Playwright Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks in TypeScript for a high-performance FX trading platform. You’ll ensure reliability, scalability, and accuracy of mission-critical trading systems while working with development, QA, and client-facing teams in a fast-paced, real-time environment.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright + TypeScript
Create end-to-end, integration, and regression test suites for web trading apps and APIs
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous release validation
Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and stakeholders to improve delivery quality
Define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards with engineering teams
Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive resolution with engineers
Create and maintain test data, mocks, and stubs for complex trading workflows
Validate UI components’ performance and reliability under real-time trading conditions
Improve test coverage and reduce manual testing dependencies
Participate in release cycles (e.g., smoke testing and production validation)
Document test frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
Lead test automation and CI/CD quality integration initiatives

Requirements

Proven leadership in QA/testing roles; ability to guide teams and manage delivery in Agile (Kanban)
Strong experience with Playwright (or comparable framework)
Strong web application testing knowledge
Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
Good knowledge of HTML5
Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Experience testing REST APIs and web applications
Understanding of modern frontend architectures (React, Angular, or similar)
Experience with Git
Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills
Familiarity with test reporting frameworks/tools
Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking

Preferred

Experience in financial systems / electronic trading / capital markets
React programming experience
Exposure to AI-assisted testing and modern QA tooling
Mocking frameworks such as Mock Service Worker (MSW)
Familiarity with Selenium or Cypress
Knowledge of FIX protocol or market data systems
Exposure to performance/load testing tools
Experience working in Linux environments
