About the role

Role overview

Join the YB Anywhere team at Yugabyte as a Platform Software Engineer (Control Plane). You will enhance and maintain the YB Anywhere platform that enables seamless deployment and management of YugabyteDB across cloud environments and on-prem infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant components for managing distributed YugabyteDB clusters.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into automated Control Plane workflows.
  • Review code, contribute to engineering best practices, and help mentor junior engineers.
  • Improve reliability and operational excellence for development and operations.

Requirements

  • Strong background in Golang and Java development, plus distributed systems.
  • Experience building large-scale, reliable, high-performance systems.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of backend software development experience.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance tuning skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud container orchestration platforms.

  • Passion for cloud-native technologies and distributed databases.
  • Enjoys solving complex problems at scale.
