Platform Operations Engineer (Remote)

Join Dotdigital as a Platform Operations Engineer responsible for designing and operating the environments that power production and development.

Role overview

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the DevOps Engineering Life Cycle to improve reliability, automate deployments, and maintain 24/7 platform uptime globally.

Key missions

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure for production and development environments.
• Automate deployment processes and improve system performance.
• Ensure 24/7 uptime across the globe using observability and reliability best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and support development & operations initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong experience with cloud platforms, with preference for Azure.
• Exposure to cloud-native technologies, including:
  • Container orchestrators
  • Immutable infrastructure
  • Service Mesh
• Experience with observability and reporting tools, e.g.:
  • Elasticsearch, Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos
  • Raygun
• Infrastructure as Code experience at scale in multiple regions (e.g., Terraform, Azure ARM, Bicep).
• Comfortable with Linux and Windows.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub).
• Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell preferred; Python/Bash good too).
• Excellent CI/CD pipeline authoring and automation focus (uses Azure DevOps).
• Strong organization and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively across parallel projects.
• Positive, proactive, coachable mindset; strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Sysadmin background.
• Comfortable with networking, public speaking, and relationship-building.
