Platform Engineer x 2

Role Overview

Hays is hiring two Platform Engineers for a remote opportunity. The role is aimed at a mid-level Systems Administrator/Engineer who will take ownership of day-to-day operations and support Advanced Cyber Initiatives (ACI), partnering with teams across brand, data, and IT assets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate enterprise IT and security applications/systems
• Troubleshoot Linux and/or Windows server operating systems and the enterprise applications running on them
• Deploy, optimize, and maintain enterprise security applications across on-prem, SaaS, and IaaS
• Remediate vulnerabilities on Windows/Linux; ensure platform stability via monitoring, maintenance, patching, and administration
• Maintain engineering documentation (procedures, lessons learned, tool documentation, status updates)
• Renew/update TLS certificates on appliances and enterprise applications
• Respond to audit and enterprise hardening requests
• Support Agile delivery by updating stories/subtasks and contributing to ongoing work
• Provide updates in Daily Operations briefings
• Monitor the daily ticket queue (incidents/work ingestion) and assign work as required
• Own quarterly access reviews
• Participate in on-call and after-hours rotation

Requirements

• 3+ years in a large enterprise with change management-focused processes
• 3+ years as a System Administrator (or similar)
• 3+ years in cybersecurity engineering (or similar)
• Experience with infrastructure management processes such as:
  • Change management
  • Problem management
  • Configuration management
  • Project management
• Hands-on Agile experience, specifically Kanban workflow
• Strong enterprise experience and ability to troubleshoot:
  • Linux (e.g., CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and/or Cisco derivative OS), or
  • Windows Server OS
• Experience with patching and upgrading Linux/Windows OS, packages, and applications
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for enterprise hardening (ideally PCI-DSS / NCUA)
• Basic scripting
