About the role

Role overview

Platform Engineer in Certinia’s Platform Engineering team, building and operating the platform that runs Certinia’s AI agents and services. The platform includes runtime, identity, AI-gateway, cost-governance, and audit layers to run AI workloads safely against customer Salesforce data.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the full development lifecycle for platform changes (Helm charts, infrastructure-as-code, platform services, CI/CD jobs, supporting tooling)
Add or modify platform functionality via new code, configuration, and infrastructure
Write and maintain automated tests and perform manual verification in lower environments
Identify and fix bugs; address feedback from code reviews
Monitor platform components and participate in incident response and disaster-recovery exercises
Demonstrate completed work to the team and wider product group
Keep up with the team’s evolving tech stack and tooling

Requirements

Development background in a systems/services language (Go preferred; also Java, Scala, Rust, Kotlin, C#, or similar)
Working knowledge of Kubernetes: deploying/debugging, reading manifests, and understanding services, ingress, and basic RBAC
Working knowledge of a major public cloud (AWS preferred; acceptable: GCP/Azure)
Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform preferred; any mainstream IaC acceptable)
Comfort with the command line and strong Linux fundamentals
Networking fundamentals: TCP/HTTP, DNS, TLS
Git proficiency and experience with code review
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
Strong bias for automation and for fixing root causes

Nice to have

Hands-on experience with EKS (or other managed Kubernetes)
Exposure to a service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
Experience with Helm
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence)
Foundational cloud/Kubernetes certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, KCNA, CKAD)
Experience owning a developer platform / shared infrastructure / developer tooling

On-call

Share on-call responsibility for the platform.
