Platform Engineer (Kubernetes/Terraform)

Role Overview

Platform Engineer focused on Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code. You’ll own the health, security, and scalability of production clusters and help ensure a reliable “Golden Path” from code commit to production.

Responsibilities

• Manage Kubernetes at scale: Own cluster lifecycle management including upgrades, scaling, and performance tuning.
• Standardize infrastructure: Use Terraform to create modular, reusable infrastructure foundations for product teams.
• Enable self-service CI/CD: Design and implement CI/CD workflows (preferred GitHub Actions) so developers can safely deploy and manage services.
• Optimize reliability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for distributed systems to maintain high availability and performance.
• Security & compliance hardening: Apply RBAC, Network Policies, and secret management best practices.

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Deep Kubernetes expertise operating production-grade clusters; comfort with cluster architecture, custom controllers, and complex networking.
• Strong Terraform proficiency (Infrastructure as Code).
• Experience building production CI/CD pipelines.
• Automation-first mindset; prefer automating changes over manual operations.
• AWS preferred, with ability to translate expertise from GCP or Azure to an AWS environment.
• Bash or Python experience for systems automation.

Nice-to-Haves

• CKA/CKS-level Kubernetes proficiency.
• Cloud fluency across primitives such as Load Balancers, VPCs, IAM, and Block Storage.

Contract & Location

• Contract: 6 months or more, likely to extend
• Remote: 100% remote (United States)
