Platform Engineer

Role Overview

Platform Engineer focused on modernizing enterprise collaboration platforms by transitioning legacy SharePoint environments to scalable, secure, and efficient SharePoint Online solutions. You’ll design, administer, and automate SharePoint, lead migrations, and partner with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to improve digital workplace experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and improve SharePoint environments and support migration/modernization and operational excellence.
• Administer SharePoint: SharePoint On-Premises (2013/2016/2019) and SharePoint Online (site collections, permissions, storage, and service configuration).
• Plan and execute migrations from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online, including:
  • content assessment and remediation
  • migration planning
  • cutover activities
• Perform enterprise migrations using tools such as:
  • SharePoint Migration Tool, ShareGate, or equivalent.
• Develop and enhance SharePoint solutions using:
  • SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
  • PowerShell automation
  • REST APIs
  • Microsoft Power Platform integrations
• Modernize legacy sites, workflows, and custom solutions into modern SharePoint Online architectures.
• Implement and maintain governance frameworks, information architecture standards, and content lifecycle management.
• Partner with security and compliance teams for access controls, data protection, and retention requirements.
• Provide Level 3 support: troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Create and maintain technical documentation (architecture, migrations, operational procedures, platform standards).
• Support user adoption by providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve reliability, scalability, and user experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on experience administering SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise migrations from SharePoint On-Premises to SharePoint Online.
• Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, service applications, authentication models, and platform configuration.
• Experience with PowerShell for administration, automation, and migration tasks.
• Knowledge of modern SharePoint development: SPFx and REST APIs.
• Practical experience with Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
• Experience with migration tools such as ShareGate or SharePoint Migration Tool.
• Familiarity with records management, retention labels, compliance features, and information governance.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing with Power Apps and Power Automate.
• Background in regulated, security-conscious enterprise environments.
