About the role

Platform Engineer (Infrastructure-as-Code)

Join the Federal Engineering team as a Platform Engineer to manage UDS deployments, build Infrastructure-as-Code modules, and support customer environments across cloud and on-prem.

Key missions

Implement and manage IaC modules to reliably provision and configure customer environments.
Deploy and manage UDS environments across AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and on-prem Kubernetes for government-backed commercial vendors.
Act as the primary technical interface for System Integrators and customers, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex UDS issues.
Improve deployment efficiency and customer outcomes through cross-functional collaboration.
Develop training content and deliver on-site training/support as needed.

Profile / Requirements

Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to manage technical relationships with system integrators.
Solid understanding of system architecture and a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to adapt and take on new responsibilities in a remote environment.
Hands-on Kubernetes experience, specifically with Azure AKS, AWS EKS, or on-prem Kubernetes (e.g., RKE2, K3s, k0s).
IaC and Kubernetes tooling experience, including:
- Terraform / OpenTofu
- Helm
- GitOps
- Cluster provisioning and lifecycle management
Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, including networking, RBAC, and storage for both cloud and on-prem clusters.
Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, containerized applications, and Terraform automation.
Experience in a Platform Engineer (or similar) role with emphasis on architecture and platform delivery.
Comfortable providing architecture guidance and production support as the main technical point of contact.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) preferred.
DoD Secret clearance or higher preferred (not required).
Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines running on GitLab or GitHub.
Willingness to travel for on-site training/support.
