About the role
Platform Engineer (Cube)
Build and operate the core platform that powers Cube’s cloud product.
What you will do
- Design and maintain cloud-native infrastructure for a globally distributed analytics platform.
- Build internal platform tooling to improve developer velocity, observability, and deployment safety.
- Scale multi-tenant systems handling high volumes of analytical queries with strict latency requirements.
- Improve reliability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery for the cloud platform.
- Operate Kubernetes-based environments and evolve deployment/release pipelines.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices for a high-availability system.
Who you are
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and Linux internals.
- Experience running production, high-availability and high-performance systems.
- Proficiency in at least one platform programming language: Go, Rust, Python, or similar.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, async environment; fluent English.
Bonus points
- Experience operating data/analytics-heavy platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and release automation.
- Experience with observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Background in cloud security best practices.
- Contributions to open-source platform/infrastructure projects.
Remote / location
- Fully remote company; located in San Francisco, CA, with flexibility to work from anywhere.
