Platform Engineer

Join Cityblock Health to enhance the platform used by engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform, focusing on reusable modules, clear ownership boundaries, and safe change management.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, developer environments, and deployment tooling to support software and data engineers.
• Execute infosec initiatives, including:
  • vulnerability management
  • access controls
  • secrets management
  • audit logging
  • compliance evidence collection (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2)
  • incident response
• Build observability into systems.
• Support the data platform.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with clinical teams.
• Contribute to mission-oriented work.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
• Comfort working across the stack, including querying/analyzing data to drive decisions.
• Hands-on security/compliance experience (e.g., IAM, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, audit preparation).
• Ability to lead technical initiatives or team members (at least 2+ years).
• Process mindset: comfortable writing and debating design docs/RFCs and postmortems.
• Deep Terraform experience in production (module design, state management, safe rollout practices).
• Strong working knowledge of a major cloud provider (GCP preferred).

Nice-to-haves

• 6+ years in platform/infrastructure/DevOps/SRE or related roles.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) with good judgment on when to use them.
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams across different expertise areas.
