Platform Engineer (AWS) - Remote

Role Overview

Platform Engineer (AWS) to design, build, secure, and operate scalable AWS cloud platforms. You will enable engineering and product teams with reliable, automated, and secure infrastructure following DevOps and platform engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS-based cloud platforms and shared services
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Build CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and platform reliability
• Manage cloud networking, security, and identity/access management
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and SRE teams to improve developer experience
• Ensure platform compliance with security, governance, and regulatory standards

AWS & Cloud Responsibilities

• Architect and implement AWS solutions using: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch
• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability patterns
• Optimize cloud cost using AWS cost management and monitoring
• Maintain secure networking (VPC design, security groups, NACLs, load balancers)

DevOps & Automation

• Develop/manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Promote DevOps and SRE practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud or platform engineering
• Strong hands-on AWS services and architecture experience
• IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong Linux administration and scripting skills (Python, Bash)
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
• Knowledge of cloud networking, security, and identity management

Nice to Have

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent)
• SRE practices / platform reliability engineering experience
• Experience with large-scale, multi-account AWS environments
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO 27001)
