About the role

Role Overview

Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer (Fully Remote) ArcheSys is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help deliver secure, efficient cloud solutions for public sector customers. You’ll partner directly with customers to understand requirements and design, develop, and implement cloud services—while building automation, improving reliability, and continuously learning.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Development & Maintenance
- Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation
Automation & Optimization
- Automate deployment processes to reduce manual effort
- Optimize cost, system performance, and resource utilization
- Build automation scripts/tools to streamline installation, configuration, and maintenance
CI/CD & Pipeline Support
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Help integrate development work into automated pipelines
Collaboration & Technical Support
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate applications and services
- Provide technical troubleshooting and issue resolution support
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Implement monitoring to proactively detect issues and ensure health
- Participate in incident response and service recovery
- Use tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
- Contribute to alerting mechanisms to notify teams of potential issues
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Document procedures, configurations, and specifications
- Maintain a knowledge base and support compliance with IT policies
Professional Development
- Stay current with emerging cloud/DevOps technologies and best practices
- Participate in training for ongoing growth

Requirements

Public Trust Clearance (or ability to obtain)
U.S. authorization required; no sponsorship provided
Residency requirement: lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years

Nice-to-Haves (implied by responsibilities)

Hands-on experience with AWS, IaC, CI/CD tools, and monitoring/observability platforms
Experience supporting production operations, incident response, and system recoveries
