Platform & DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

Role overview

Yoummday GmbH is hiring a Platform & DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) in a hybrid setup at locations including Munich, Berlin, or Halle (Saale). You will own and continuously improve the company’s cloud platform, primarily on Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Cloud platform ownership (Azure-first): Design, operate, and further develop infrastructure covering compute, networking, identity, and governance.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and maintain IaC using Terraform, create reusable modules, and automate error-prone manual tasks.
• CI/CD platform & self-service tooling: Evolve deployment automation across the software lifecycle and build self-service capabilities for faster, safer deployments.
• Developer enablement / DX: Collaborate with Engineering and Product to improve delivery processes and platform capabilities.
• Reliability, security & cost efficiency:
  • Monitor performance, availability, and stability; address issues proactively.
  • Integrate security controls into platform and CI/CD workflows with the CISO team, including Azure security services, policies, and benchmarks.
  • Optimize platforms for scalability and cost from the start; apply FinOps practices such as cost monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting.

Requirements

• Hands-on Azure experience across compute, networking, storage, identity, and governance.
• Strong automation skills: Terraform, plus Bicep or ARM; build and run CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD); automate configuration management.
• Container and orchestration experience: Docker and Kubernetes/Nomad or Azure ACA/ACI.
• Secure scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Observability & security: monitoring/logging/alerting; understanding IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust, Privileged Identity Management.
• Practical compliance exposure (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS).
• FinOps mindset: cloud usage analysis and cost-efficient architecture.

Nice-to-haves

• Azure certifications, FinOps frameworks, and/or experience with serverless architectures.
• Experience with distributed or hybrid systems.
