Platform Developer

Role: Platform Developer (Senior)

You will be responsible for building and operating a secure management infrastructure, focusing on containerization, automation, infrastructure-as-code, service integration, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Containerize and automate infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and configuration tooling
• Integrate and configure services for the management infrastructure
• Implement monitoring and stability practices for the platform
• Develop hardened machine images (e.g., Azure VM) and ensure STIG compliance
• Create custom services to support security inheritance
• Lead major technology assignments, evaluate performance results, and recommend major short-term changes
• Act as a technical expert across multiple project assignments (may supervise others)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field (or 6+ years implementing IT systems as a substitute)
• 7+ years software development experience building solutions in secure Government cloud environments
• 2+ years DevSecOps continuous delivery experience using automation and tools such as Terraform (provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance)
• 2+ years experience with Platform as a Service technologies including Kubernetes
• 1+ year deploying and working with Azure Landing Zones, implementing Azure policies, and using command-line interfaces
• Network experience including DNS, load balancing, and TLS
• AWS experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance required
• DoDD 8570.01-M IA certifications with IAT Level II baseline (e.g., Security+) and/or cloud provider certification
• Located within a 120-mile radius of NGIC; ability to travel twice per month to NGIC Charlottesville or Metro Park Alexandria

Contract/Work Details

• Full-time role with remote work; travel required twice monthly

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $150,000 - $220,000 (varies based on factors such as location, experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs)
