PHP Laravel Full Stack Developer

Role Overview

Sr. Full Stack (PHP/Laravel) Developer (Remote – U.S. Time Zones) Join a small, focused team as a key developer implementing mobile applications and a robust web platform in a sports-related industry. You’ll take lead on critical development projects and contribute to technology planning through advice, creative solutions, and resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex web applications using PHP/Laravel and Vue.js
• Lead design and project delivery on critical initiatives; act as design/project lead
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to design, implement, and test new features
• Coordinate parallel development and deployments across concurrent projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; provide 24/7 emergency availability for critical incidents
• Optimize applications for performance and scalability
• Design and maintain database schemas for application needs and platform growth
• Lead the full web application development lifecycle (concept → delivery → post-launch support)
• Implement and maintain automated test suites (feature stability before major releases/events)
• Maintain a clean, maintainable codebase via documentation and peer reviews
• Use AI-assisted tooling (e.g., Copilot/ChatGPT) to improve efficiency and reduce technical debt

Requirements / Critical Skills

• Strong proficiency with PHP and Laravel
• Solid understanding of OOP and MVC design patterns
• Comfortable working in Linux, using Git and appropriate build tools
• Front-end: JavaScript (ES5/ES6), HTML5, CSS3
• Back-end: MySQL (or equivalent relational database)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude
• Ability to document feature requirements and project status updates clearly
• Experience with automated testing (e.g., PHPUnit, Laravel Dusk)
• Modern workflows: pull requests, CI/CD, and code reviews
• Ability to responsibly leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT)

• Strong ownership mindset to drive projects to completion
• Experience with Vue.js (or equivalent front-end frameworks)
