Role overview

TenMedia is looking for an experienced PHP Developer / Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung (m/w/d) in Berlin-Mitte. You will build and maintain custom applications end-to-end, taking responsibility for both ongoing systems (updates, security patches, performance, monitoring) and modernizing existing (legacy) applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom individual software (from A to Z)
• Implement REST APIs and integrate interfaces with specialist systems and third-party systems
• Own long-term responsibility for running applications:
  • updates and security patches
  • performance optimization
  • monitoring
• Work with the modern stack: Laravel, Livewire, MySQL, Redis, Docker, FrankenPHP, Caddy, Azure/AWS
• Collaborate using Scrum and DevOps-Boards; perform team code reviews
• Coordinate directly with long-standing customers

Requirements

• Completed training as Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung, IT degree, or comparable qualification
• At least 2 years of professional experience in PHP development
• Substantive involvement in at least two PHP software projects that were in productive use
• Strong knowledge of Laravel (Eloquent, Queues, Testing, etc.)
• Experience with at least one JavaScript framework: Vue.js, React, or Alpine.js
• Solid MySQL skills and clean database design
• Comfort with Docker Compose; Kubernetes experience is a plus
• Experience with Azure or AWS is a plus
• Proficient Git workflow (pull requests, code reviews)
• Experience with REST APIs and integrating third-party/specialist systems
• Willingness for continuous learning
• Reliability, independent working style, hands-on mindset
• German C1 (most customer/project communication is in German)

Nice to have

• Kubernetes experience
• Azure/AWS experience
• Certifications (Scrum Master / Product Owner) supported by the company
