About the role

Role: Pharmacy Technician

You will work independently in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, reporting to the Pharmacist Operations Manager and the Head Pharmacy Technician. The role covers daily technician responsibilities as well as store and inventory duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Pharmacy Technician duties efficiently and professionally
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) products
  • Receive medicine orders, complete data entry, and prepare prescriptions while managing workflow
  • Accurately complete Monitored Dosage System (MDS) packs
  • Manage inventory: monitor stock levels, rotate stock, and check expiry dates
  • Resolve customer queries with a customer-first approach
  • Build positive relationships with customers and vendors
  • Handle insurance billing for prescription claims: track/clear payments and resolve discrepancies
  • Support stock-management and procurement of pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies from overseas and local wholesalers

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician Degree from an accredited program
  • Minimum 3 years of retail pharmacy technician experience
  • Knowledge of Bermuda pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Rx30, including Bermuda insurance billings
  • Experience with Monitored Dosage System packs
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced dispensary operation
  • Teamwork skills and ability to take directions from other staff
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and public holidays; availability for after-hours deliveries
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, retail pharmacy software, and POS systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a track record of excellent customer service
