Patient Scheduler (Remote)
Be the go-to support for patient care by helping patients schedule, verify, and prepare for appointments.
Role Summary
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients.
- Ensure appointments are scheduled accurately and timely.
- Verify insurance benefits and communicate estimated patient responsibility before visits.
- Maintain patient records and coordinate with providers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments for patients and external facilities via phone and electronic correspondence.
- Collect, verify, and communicate insurance benefit details during scheduling.
- Educate patients on the insurance verification process and expected financial responsibility.
- Confirm appointments and provide appointment details, location information, and special instructions.
- Create and maintain patient records (demographics and required paperwork).
- Contact referring provider offices to obtain necessary records and visit preparation details.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and medical staff to schedule appointments efficiently.
- Respond to patient inquiries professionally and promptly via phone and written communication.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party systems to support coordinated patient care.
- Assist insurance verification associates when needed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in customer service and/or appointment scheduling (as stated; last requirement line is truncated).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Logistics / Compensation
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM CST (flexible within business hours).
- Compensation: $18–$20 per hour.
- Start: Potential start date: 5/26/2026.
- Location: Remote (must pass an internet speed test; equipment provided).
