Part-Time Product Designer

Role

Part-Time Product / Experience Designer (Contract) Cofertility is seeking a part-time, contract-based Product / Experience Designer to shape the next generation of its mobile-first application and intake experiences.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and apply open-source UI/component libraries (e.g., shadcn/ui, Tailwind, Chakra or similar) into a Cofertility-native product language.
• Create and maintain design system guidance, including reusable UX patterns, components, and interaction principles for Product, Engineering, and non-technical teams.
• Redesign and iterate on the egg donor application experience, focusing on reducing friction in a long, complex flow.
• Use qualitative and funnel data to identify design opportunities and prioritize improvements.
• Prototype new experience concepts for both user and internal team feedback.
• Explore AI-augmented product experiences and produce design artifacts that accelerate product development.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Member Experience to ensure designs are thoughtful, buildable, and useful.

Requirements

• Experience designing consumer-facing digital products.
• Domain experience in healthcare, fertility, wellness, family-building, marketplaces, dating, beauty, or another high-trust consumer category.
• Interest in AI-augmented product development, with evidence of using AI tools for thinking, prototyping, synthesis, or creation.
• Strong commitment to user research and service design based on real human needs.
• Ability to balance emotional warmth with clarity, structure, and operational precision.
• Comfort working in ambiguity, shaping early ideas (not just executing predefined tickets).
• Strong product judgment and ability to clearly explain design decisions.
• Ability to work part-time with strong async communication, ownership, and momentum.
