Oracle Functional Financials Architect

Role overview

The Oracle Functional Financials Architect provides expert guidance across the Oracle Financials implementation lifecycle—from strategy and planning to design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. You will translate complex business requirements into scalable solutions while ensuring alignment with compliance and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Oracle Financials implementations (solution design through post-go-live support)
• Translate business requirements into scalable functional designs and configurations
• Ensure alignment with compliance and reporting standards, including US GAAP and IFRS
• Collaborate with technical teams on integration, data conversion, and reporting strategies
• Produce client-facing documentation (functional specifications, process maps, test scripts, training materials)
• Support pre-sales with Oracle Financials demos, presentations, and solutioning
• Contribute to internal assets and mentor junior consultants

Qualifications

• Deep functional expertise in Oracle Financials modules, including:
  • GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management
  • Subledger Accounting and Banking
• Experience designing charts of accounts for complex organizations (including chart hierarchies across single-entity, multi-entity, and global environments)
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS compliance in domestic/international multi-ledger setups
• Hands-on experience with intercompany accounting, eliminations, and multi-currency transactions
• Knowledge of Oracle EPM integrations for consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and planning
• Familiarity with workflow approvals, revenue recognition, and reporting tools (OTBI, Smart View, BI Publisher)
• In-depth understanding of subledger-to-GL close process and financial period management
• Understanding of Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash cycles (especially AR and Cash)
• Knowledge of budget loading/reporting within Oracle ERP

Leadership & experience

• Proven experience leading multiple complex, end-to-end Oracle Financials implementations
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams (onshore and offshore) and deliver on time with high quality
• Strong facilitation skills for stakeholder alignment and decision-making
• Pre-sales experience through solutioning and product demonstrations
• Experience mentoring junior consultants and supporting knowledge sharing

Experience level

• 5–8 years of experience with Oracle ERP Cloud upgrades and quarterly release cycles
