Role Overview

Join Brillio’s Health Insurance Technology team as a Node.js Developer. You’ll design and build robust, scalable backend services for health insurance applications, working across product, DevOps, and frontend teams. The role is focused on cloud architecture on AWS, secure handling of sensitive health data, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable backend services using Node.js
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices on AWS
  • Use services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS
• Build and maintain Amazon Connect integrations for contact center capabilities
  • IVR/contact flows, Lambda integrations, and real-time analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet healthcare security and data standards
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote software engineering best practices
• Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulations (HIPAA) and optimize for high-volume sensitive data
• Stay current with emerging health-tech and cloud technologies to improve performance and security

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, including:
  • Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, IAM
• Amazon Connect hands-on experience, especially:
  • contact flow design, integrations, and analytics
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards: HL7 and FHIR (preferred)
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance (highly preferred)
• Strong backend and debugging/problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

• Containerization and orchestration experience:
  • Docker, ECS or EKS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Comfort working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Authentication protocol knowledge: OAuth2 and JWT
