Node.js Full Stack Senior Developer

Role Overview

As a Node.js Full Stack Senior Developer at ForgeMission, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications for enterprise clients. You’ll build end-to-end solutions by leveraging Node.js on the backend and React/Next.js on the frontend while collaborating with product and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Node.js (Express, Koa, or NestJS)
• Build responsive frontend applications using React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Translate requirements into technical solutions with product managers, UI/UX designers, and engineers
• Integrate backend services with frontend components and third-party systems
• Optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability
• Implement data solutions using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB)
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, testable code (unit/integration tests)
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployments (potentially Kubernetes)
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Troubleshoot and debug complex full-stack issues

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science/Engineering or related) or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional software development with strong focus on Node.js
• Experience building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Strong experience with microservices architecture patterns
• Proficiency with React and/or Next.js
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScript skills
• Experience with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB/DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with SDLC best practices and Agile
• Experience with Git
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools
• Experience with Docker
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially serverless (Lambda, Azure Functions) and managed services
• Message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other orchestration platforms
• Contributions to open-source
• Knowledge of web security best practices (OWASP)
