About the role

Role Overview

Senior Node.js Full Stack Developer at ForgeMission designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining robust web applications for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Node.js (Express, Koa, or NestJS)
Build responsive frontend applications with React and Next.js using modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices
Collaborate with product managers and UI/UX designers to translate requirements into technical solutions
Integrate backend services with frontend components and third-party systems
Optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability
Implement database solutions using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB)
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, testable code (unit/integration tests)
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
Containerize with Docker and potentially manage deployments with Kubernetes
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
Troubleshoot and debug complex full-stack issues

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of professional software development with a strong focus on Node.js
Experience building RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs
Solid microservices architecture experience
Proficiency with React and/or Next.js
Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScript skills
Experience with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB/DynamoDB)
Familiarity with SDLC best practices and Agile methodologies
Proficiency with Git
Understanding of CI/CD principles and tooling
Experience with Docker
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in CS or related field
Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), including serverless (Lambda/Azure Functions) and managed services
Message queuing (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
Kubernetes/container orchestration familiarity
Open-source contributions
Web security knowledge (OWASP)
