Node.js Full Stack Senior Developer

Role Overview

Senior Node.js Full Stack Developer at ForgeMission, building end-to-end web applications for enterprise clients. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable backend APIs/microservices and modern frontend experiences.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust backend APIs and microservices using Node.js (Express, Koa, or NestJS)
• Build responsive frontend applications using React and Next.js with modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Collaborate with product managers and UI/UX designers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Integrate backend services with frontend components and third-party systems
• Optimize performance, scalability, security, and reliability
• Implement database solutions using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB)
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, testable code with unit/integration tests
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Containerize applications with Docker and optionally manage deployments with Kubernetes
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Troubleshoot and debug complex full-stack issues

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (CS/Engineering or related) or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years professional software development with strong Node.js focus
• Demonstrated expertise building RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs
• Solid experience with microservices architecture patterns
• Proficiency with frontend frameworks, especially React and/or Next.js
• Strong understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScript
• Experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with SDLC best practices and Agile methodologies
• Experience with Git
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools
• Experience with Docker
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including serverless (Lambda/Azure Functions) and managed services
• Message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Kubernetes familiarity
• Open-source contributions
• Web security knowledge (OWASP)
