Node.js Full Stack Senior Developer

Role Overview

Senior Node.js Full Stack Developer at ForgeMission, designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end web applications for enterprise clients. You will work across backend and frontend to deliver scalable, secure digital transformation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Backend/API development: Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend APIs and microservices using Node.js with frameworks such as Express, Koa, or NestJS.
• Frontend development: Build responsive, user-friendly frontend applications using React and Next.js with modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices.
• Collaboration: Work with product managers, UI/UX designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Integration: Connect backend services to frontend components and third-party systems.
• Performance & reliability: Optimize for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Databases: Implement solutions using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Testing & code quality: Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code (unit and integration tests).
• CI/CD & deployment: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and containerize with Docker (potentially Kubernetes).
• Team practices: Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the full stack.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years professional software development with strong Node.js focus.
• Experience building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Solid experience with microservices architecture patterns.
• Proficiency with React and/or Next.js.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with SDLC best practices and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and tools.
• Experience with Docker.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), including serverless (Lambda, Azure Functions) and managed services.
• Message queuing (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Kubernetes familiarity.
• Open-source contributions.
• Web security best practices (OWASP).
