Node.JS Developer

Role Overview

Node.js Developer (Full-time, 100% remote) responsible for building and integrating backend services using a microservices/event-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservices-based architectures using Node.js.
• Program and maintain backend services using JavaScript and Java (as applicable).
• Apply strong object-oriented design patterns with a SOLID understanding.
• Implement event-driven design and microservices frameworks.
• Develop systems with a security mindset, including OWASP and OAuth2.
• Build integrations using one or more of:
  • Kafka
  • RabbitMQ
  • MuleSoft
• Develop and integrate web/API services using SOAP and REST and related technologies.
• Use continuous integration and deployment tooling, including Git and Bitbucket Pipelines, and Docker.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with Node.js framework(s).
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• 3+ years experience programming with Node.js (or comparable framework).
• 5+ years experience programming in Java/JavaScript.
• Strong SOLID principles and object-oriented design patterns.
• Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven design.
• Information security experience from a systems development perspective (OWASP, OAuth2, etc.).
• Expertise in web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, XML, ASP, SQL, and Java or Python.
• Experience with SOAP and REST web services.
• CI/CD and tooling experience with Git, Atlassian Bitbucket Pipelines, and Docker.

Nice to Have / Preferred

• Explicit experience with integration technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MuleSoft) as part of the microservices design.
