Node Js Developer

Role overview

Software Engineer (Node.js) joining Vir Healthway to build and maintain core healthcare platforms. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable features that support healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own the full delivery lifecycle of features from concept/design through implementation and deployment
• Collaborate with product owners to shape requirements and ensure features meet customer and business needs
• Work in an Agile environment alongside engineers, designers, and product managers
• Implement and reinforce architecture and engineering patterns (including emerging technologies and best practices)
• Document high-level and low-level system designs for knowledge sharing
• Apply security best practices throughout development to protect sensitive healthcare data
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and quality
• Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and tooling

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in Java, Node.js, and REST API development with a focus on security best practices
• Proficiency with Git
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools for automating builds, testing, and deployments
• Hands-on experience deploying on at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of modern engineering patterns (microservices architecture, distributed messaging, scalable/resilient system design)
• Ability to clearly document system designs
• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders
