About the role

Role Overview

Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Monitoring Engineer to design and operate the end-to-end observability stack. You will build reliable metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting systems that help engineering teams trust and operate their platforms effectively.

Responsibilities

Design and operate the full observability platform: collection agents/pipelines, long-term storage, dashboards, and alerting workflows
Improve usability, signal quality, and operational ROI of observability outputs
Translate noisy telemetry into actionable insights for engineering and business stakeholders
Work with observability platforms and open-source/SaaS trade-offs
Integrate observability with CI/CD and incident management tooling
Operate metrics/log pipelines for high-cardinality, high-throughput workloads

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years experience in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles
Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana, plus at least one major commercial observability platform (Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk)
Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging
Proficiency in a general-purpose language such as Go, Python, or Java
Knowledge of SLOs, error budgets, and core SRE principles
Solid grasp of Linux internals, networking, and container platforms
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Thanos, Mimir, Cortex, Loki, or Tempo at scale
Contributions to OpenTelemetry or other observability open-source projects
Familiarity with eBPF-based observability tooling
Experience driving observability cost optimization initiatives
Exposure to regulated environments requiring audit-grade logging
