About the role
Role Overview
Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Monitoring Engineer to design and operate the end-to-end observability stack. You will build reliable metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting systems that help engineering teams trust and operate their platforms effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate the full observability platform: collection agents/pipelines, long-term storage, dashboards, and alerting workflows
- Improve usability, signal quality, and operational ROI of observability outputs
- Translate noisy telemetry into actionable insights for engineering and business stakeholders
- Work with observability platforms and open-source/SaaS trade-offs
- Integrate observability with CI/CD and incident management tooling
- Operate metrics/log pipelines for high-cardinality, high-throughput workloads
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years experience in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana, plus at least one major commercial observability platform (Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk)
- Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging
- Proficiency in a general-purpose language such as Go, Python, or Java
- Knowledge of SLOs, error budgets, and core SRE principles
- Solid grasp of Linux internals, networking, and container platforms
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Thanos, Mimir, Cortex, Loki, or Tempo at scale
- Contributions to OpenTelemetry or other observability open-source projects
- Familiarity with eBPF-based observability tooling
- Experience driving observability cost optimization initiatives
- Exposure to regulated environments requiring audit-grade logging

- Full-time, Direct W2
