Modern Work Architect (Remote in US)

Role Overview

The Modern Work Architect leads end-to-end collaboration platform migrations from Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom to Microsoft 365 for mid-market and enterprise customers. The architect owns the engagement from early discovery and solution design through execution, cutover, and post-migration stabilization, acting as a technology leader within Inviso’s Microsoft Solutions Group (MSG).

Responsibilities

• Run detailed discovery and assessment of current technical environments to design a secure, scalable Microsoft 365 tenant
• Design and implement a robust Microsoft 365 foundation covering identity, security, governance, and collaboration
• Lead end-to-end migration engagements (discovery → migration planning → cutover → stabilization)
• Create target-state Microsoft 365 collaboration architectures and migration strategies
• Plan and execute migrations from Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom to Microsoft 365/Teams
• Own migration sequencing, pilots, cutover planning, validation, and hypercare
• Serve as primary technical authority for customers throughout migration engagements
• Guide and oversee engineers/consultants delivering migration work
• Communicate risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to IT/security/business stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering Microsoft 365 solutions in consulting or enterprise environments
• Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 tenant interdependencies and core capabilities, including:
  • Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
• Proven experience leading Google Workspace → Microsoft 365 migrations
• Hands-on experience with Slack → Microsoft Teams migrations
• Strong expertise transitioning Zoom-centric collaboration to Teams
• Strong architecture expertise in:
  • Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams
• Strong expertise in:
  • Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (identity and access)
• Device management expertise (Intune, application packaging, Defender for Endpoint)
• Foundational knowledge of Purview (Information Protection, DLP)
• Experience with migration tooling/automation and PowerShell scripting

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience delivering Microsoft-funded or time-boxed migration engagements
• Familiarity with security, compliance, and data protection considerations during migration
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading small delivery teams
• Background working with mid-market or enterprise customers under tight timelines
• Preferred: Microsoft 365 certifications (M365 Admin mentioned)

• 100% remote
• Must work during US time zone work hours
