Model Architect Intern The Role Latent is a new AI initiative founded by OpenAI, Y Combinator, and Scale AI alums. We're building a selective network of top technical talent to work on problems at the frontier of AI. This program is designed for university students with strong backgrounds in coding, mathematics, and STEM — particularly those with competitive programming or math experience. Flexible and remote. Work from anywhere in the U.S., on your own hours. What You'll Do Contribute to active research and engineering efforts pushing the boundaries of what AI systems can do. Participate in regular sessions with the team and other architects to discuss techniques, share findings, and go deep on open problems. Work on your own schedule. Hours are flexible and structured around your availability. Who Should Apply Currently enrolled in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related STEM field. Can start as soon as possible. Strong coding ability — ideally demonstrated through competitive programming, math competitions, or significant personal/open-source projects.
