About the role
Role overview
As a Mobile Full Stack Developer, you will design, build, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications and the associated backend services. You’ll collaborate with digital solution engineers, product teams, and end users to translate complex requirements into reliable, secure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain cross-platform mobile apps using Flutter (Dart) for iOS and Android
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI
- Create responsive UI for diverse audiences (field technicians to tablet users)
- Collaborate with product owners and engineers to deliver solutions to complex problems
- Optimize mobile app and backend for reliability, security, and performance
- Refactor legacy code for readability, reusability, and reliability
- Stay current with emerging technologies, best practices, and new packages/libraries
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize across the stack
- Participate in Agile practices (sprint planning, stand-ups, refinements, retrospectives)
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployments via strong version control practices
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in Flutter and Python, including FastAPI (async frameworks)
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization strategies
- Experience with Flutter state management, especially BLoC
- Competency with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with cloud computing, especially Azure and/or GCP
- Proficiency with IDEs such as VSCode or PyCharm; mobile IDEs like Xcode and/or Android Studio
- Familiarity with Git and version control best practices
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Ability to communicate in English for safety/operations directions
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with code assistance tools such as Cursor and Gemini
- Oil & gas industry knowledge/experience
- Experience with Angular web development
Location / travel
- Houston, TX
- Occasional travel to well-sites, trade shows, and customer offices
