Mobile Engineer - Fully Remote | Upto $85/hr

Role Overview

Mercor is hiring an iOS Engineer (Coding Agent Experience) for a fully remote contract role focused on using frontier AI coding agents to complete and validate engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

• Use frontier AI coding agents to implement and evaluate complex engineering tasks.
• Review model-generated mobile application code for:
  • correctness
  • quality
  • maintainability
  • performance
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in model outputs.
• Compare results across multiple frontier models and assess strengths/weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic mobile engineering scenarios.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional iOS engineering experience.
• Experience building and maintaining production iOS apps using Swift and modern iOS frameworks.
• Regular hands-on use of AI coding agents such as:
  • Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated mobile implementations and architectural decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience shipping production mobile applications.

Compensation

• $85/hour (stated rate) and $400 per accepted task.
• Typical accepted tasks take ~2–3 hours after ramp-up.
• Compensation is tied to accepted work.
