Mobile Engineer — Birdie (Android / Compose Multiplatform)

Role Overview

Remote, U.S.-based Mobile Engineer to join a small team working on a native Android app (Birdie) while transitioning toward Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. The team keeps ceremony light, emphasizes end-to-end ownership, and values meaningful work over excessive process.

What You’ll Work On

• Build and maintain the native Android app used across the course network
• Squash bugs and ship new features
• Participate actively in the ongoing migration to Compose Multiplatform
• Own work end-to-end with a short feedback loop

Requirements

• Strong Kotlin production experience (not just tutorials)
• Comfortable owning tasks end-to-end and asking questions when blocked
• Genuine interest in modern mobile development
• Sense of humor

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Compose Multiplatform
• Background with React Native
• Familiarity with C# / .NET (backend is .NET)
• GraphQL knowledge
• Exposure to other declarative UI frameworks such as SwiftUI
